Schertz is a growing suburban city in the San Antonio metropolitan area, lying about 17 miles east of San Antonio and close to New Braunfels. It occupies gently rolling terrain along the Interstate 35 corridor northeast of San Antonio and has expanded steadily as a bedroom community and commercial hub within Greater San Antonio.
