Rising Star, Texas
Rising Star is a small town in southwestern Eastland County, about 51 miles southeast of Abilene in the rolling ranch and farm country of West Central Texas. The land around it turned to peanuts and pecans as cotton faded, and oil has also been produced in the surrounding area. Set among gentle hills, mesquite, and open range, the town serves as a farming and ranching center for its part of the county.
