Quinlan is a small city in Hunt County, on the gently rolling farmland and prairie of North Texas about 30 miles east of Garland. It lies near Lake Tawakoni, a large reservoir on the Sabine River whose shoreline and fishing draw visitors to the area. The city sits at the eastern edge of the broader Dallas-Fort Worth region.
