West Tawakoni, Texas

West Tawakoni sits in Hunt County in North Texas, on the western shore of Lake Tawakoni, a large reservoir on the Sabine River roughly 36 miles east of Garland. The city is bordered on much of its perimeter by the lake and grew as a lakeside community after the reservoir was completed. Fishing dominates its recreation, and the lake is especially known among anglers for catfish.
