Prosper is a town in Collin County, about 6 miles north of Frisco in the fast-growing northern edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Long a farming and ranching community on the Blackland Prairie, it has seen swift residential growth as the metroplex has expanded outward. The surrounding terrain is open prairie giving way to new subdivisions and roadways.
