Oak Point is a residential city in east-central Denton County, in the North Texas lake country roughly 9 miles from Denton and about 10 miles west of Frisco. It occupies a peninsula and shoreline along the northeastern edge of Lewisville Lake, and the water and surrounding parkland give the city much of its character. It has grown steadily as a suburban community within reach of the wider Dallas-Fort Worth area.
