Lake Dallas is a city in Denton County in North Texas, situated about 9 miles from the city of Denton within the greater Dallas–Fort Worth area. It sits along the western shore of Lewisville Lake, a large reservoir on the Elm Fork of the Trinity River, and the lake shapes much of the community's recreation and setting. The city grew as a lakeside suburb amid the region's rapid metropolitan expansion.
