Milano, Texas

Milano is a small city in Milam County, in the farming and ranching country of Central Texas about 31 miles west of College Station, near the junction of U.S. Highway 79 and State Highway 36. The town developed around the railroad and served for decades as a shipping point for cotton grown in the surrounding area, with truck crops such as tomatoes and watermelons later becoming important. It remains a rural community set in gently rolling terrain.
