Hearne, Texas
Hearne is a city in Robertson County, in the Brazos Valley of Central Texas, about 23 miles northwest of College Station. The town grew up as a rail junction where major north-south and east-west lines crossed, which made it a regional shipping point for cotton and gave rise to a historic depot now kept as a local railroad museum. North of town stood Camp Hearne, a large World War II prisoner-of-war camp whose site is remembered locally.
