McLendon-Chisholm is a small city in Kaufman County, in the North Texas rolling prairie about 15 miles east of Garland and 24 miles east of Dallas. Once a rural farming and ranching area on the eastern edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, it has taken in low-density residential development as the region has expanded outward. The surrounding countryside remains a mix of open pasture, ponds, and wooded creek bottoms.
