Marlin, Texas

Marlin lies in the Central Texas farm country of Falls County, along the Brazos River about 22 miles southeast of Waco. In the early twentieth century the town was known for its hot mineral wells, which drew visitors seeking the waters and supported a string of bathhouses and a health-resort trade. The surrounding countryside is given over to cotton and other row crops on the blackland and river-bottom soils.
