Calvert, Texas

Calvert lies in Robertson County on the Central Texas prairie, roughly 31 miles northwest of College Station along the old Houston and Texas Central rail line. Once a thriving cotton town, it retains one of the largest concentrations of Victorian-era architecture in the state, and much of its 19th-century commercial and residential core survives within a designated historic district. The surrounding country is a flat expanse of farmland and pasture in the Brazos River valley.
