Hart is a small farming city on the flat, open High Plains of the Texas Panhandle, in Castro County about 58 miles northwest of Lubbock. The surrounding country is level cropland worked for cotton, grain, and other irrigated crops drawn from the Ogallala Aquifer, with wide horizons and few natural breaks in the terrain.
