Springlake is a small town on the flat, open High Plains of the Texas Panhandle, in Lamb County about 52 miles northwest of Lubbock. It sits amid the level farmland of the Llano Estacado, a region given over to irrigated agriculture including cotton, grain, and other row crops. The surrounding country is broad and treeless, cut only by shallow playa basins that collect rainwater across the plains.
