Friendswood, Texas

Friendswood is a suburban city in the Houston metropolitan area, straddling the line between Galveston and Harris counties in the Upper Gulf Coast region about six miles from Pearland and roughly twenty miles southeast of downtown Houston. The community was settled by Quakers and retains a Friends heritage reflected in its name and early institutions. Its location near NASA's Johnson Space Center to the east has long tied it to the region's aerospace workforce.
