Dodd City is a small town in Fannin County in North Texas, about 42 miles northeast of McKinney in the rolling farm country of the Blackland region near the Red River. The surrounding land is largely rural, given to farming and pasture, and the town remains a quiet agricultural community. It lies well beyond the outer edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth suburbs.
