DISH, Texas

DISH is a small town in Denton County in North Texas, roughly 12 miles west of Denton in the rolling countryside north of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Originally called Clark, the town accepted a deal in 2005 to rename itself DISH in exchange for free satellite television service for residents, a change that drew national attention. It remains a very small rural community set among fields and scattered development.
