Aspermont is a small town in Stonewall County, in the rolling plains of West Texas about 56 miles northwest of Abilene. The surrounding country is dry ranchland and cotton and wheat farming ground, cut by the forks of the Brazos River. Its economy has long rested on agriculture and, in the wider region, oil production.
