New to Wichita County? Two Different Clocks Start the Day You Move
Two clocks start when you move here. TxDMV gives you 30 days to register your vehicle in Texas. DPS gives you 90 days to get a Texas driver license.
Vehicle registration goes through the Wichita County Tax Office at 600 Scott Avenue, Suite 103, in Wichita Falls. Bring proof of insurance and your title or out-of-state registration. Most passenger vehicles no longer need a safety inspection, and Wichita County is not an emissions county.
Your driver license is separate. It is handled by a DPS driver license office, not the county tax office. Take care of the vehicle first if that deadline is closer, then keep the 90-day license deadline on your calendar.
