After a private sale, Texas gives the buyer 30 days from the sale date to put the title in the buyer's name. A signed title is the start, not the finish. Handle it early so late-transfer penalties do not pile up.

The Wichita County Tax Office is at 600 Scott Avenue, Suite 103, in Wichita Falls. Bring the signed title, Form 130-U, proof of insurance, your ID, and payment for taxes and fees. If the seller can come too, small signature or odometer mistakes are easier to fix.
