College Station is a certified Bird City
College Station became a certified Bird City Texas on January 9, 2025. TPWD named it in the same round as Denton, Kerrville, San Marcos, and Wimberley. The local work runs through parks staff, a conservation advisory group, community birding, education, and Lights Out for Birds.
For Brazos County birders, this is more than a badge. Lick Creek, Bryson, Gabard, Bee Creek, Brothers Pond, and John Crompton parks all show up as local birding spots. Across those parks, more than 150 bird species have been seen.
