Kurten is a small town in Brazos County, set in the rural farmland and gently rolling terrain northeast of College Station in the Brazos Valley of Central Texas. It lies about 12 miles north of College Station, well outside the built-up area around Texas A&M University. The surrounding country is largely given over to pasture and cropland.
