Zavalla is a small city in Angelina County, deep in the East Texas Piney Woods about 76 miles northwest of Beaumont. It sits amid the pine forests of the Angelina National Forest, close to the shores of Sam Rayburn Reservoir, one of the largest lakes in Texas.
