Yorktown is a city in DeWitt County on the Gulf Coastal Plain of South Texas, about 62 miles southeast of New Braunfels. It lies in ranching and farming country in the broad prairie between San Antonio and the coast. The town carries a German and Central European settlement heritage common to this part of Texas.
