Texhoma sits on the far northern edge of the Texas Panhandle in Sherman County, at the top of the state near the Oklahoma line. Set on the flat, treeless High Plains, the town lies amid dryland wheat fields and cattle country roughly 88 miles north of Amarillo. The community developed along the railroad as a farm-and-ranch shipping point in the surrounding grain belt.
