Texarkana, Texas
Texarkana sits in the Piney Woods of far northeastern Texas, in Bowie County, at the very edge of the state near the Arkansas line. The surrounding country is wooded and gently rolling, drained by the Sulphur and Red river systems that thread the timber-rich northeastern corner of Texas. Long a rail and lumber town, it grew as a junction point and regional hub for this part of the state, and it lies about 76 miles northeast of Longview.
