Red Lick is a small city in Bowie County in the East Texas Piney Woods, set in the wooded, rolling country of the state's far northeastern corner near Texarkana. It lies about 76 miles northeast of Longview and roughly 103 miles northeast of Tyler, functioning largely as a residential community amid the surrounding timberland.

Texarkana's Federal Building straddles the Texas-Arkansas state line
