Terrell is a city in Kaufman County, on the Blackland Prairie about 30 miles east of Dallas along the Interstate 20 and U.S. 80 corridor. It developed as a railroad and agricultural trade town and today anchors the eastern edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. The surrounding land is open, gently rolling farm and ranch country typical of the North Texas prairie.
