Talco, Texas

Talco is a small city in the Piney Woods of East Texas, in Titus County near the Franklin County line, about 63 miles northwest of Longview. The town's history is bound up with the Talco oil field, discovered along the Mexia-Powell-Talco fault zone in the 1930s, which turned the community into a busy oil boomtown for a time. The surrounding country is the wooded, gently rolling landscape of the north-central East Texas basin.
