Winfield is a small city in Titus County, in the wooded, gently rolling country of northeast Texas roughly 51 miles northwest of Longview. It sits within the Piney Woods, a landscape of pine and hardwood forest, farm plots, and creek bottoms. The community developed as a rural railroad-era settlement along the routes that cross this part of East Texas.
