South Mountain, Texas
South Mountain is a small rural town in Coryell County, in the Central Texas country between the Hill Country and the Waco area, lying a few miles east of Gatesville and about 22 miles north of Killeen. The surrounding landscape is one of open ranchland, low hills, and scattered pasture typical of the region. It is a quiet residential and agricultural community within the Killeen–Fort Hood area.
