Seymour is a small city in Baylor County, set in the rolling ranch country of North Texas about 84 miles northeast of Abilene. The surrounding land is a mix of open grassland and cultivated fields worked for cattle, wheat, and cotton, and the nearby Millers Creek Reservoir supplies water and draws anglers to the area. The town serves as the trade center for a sparsely settled ranching region between Wichita Falls and Abilene.
