Poteet, Texas
Poteet is a city in Atascosa County, about 27 miles south of San Antonio in the sandy-soil brush country of South Central Texas. It is widely known as the Strawberry Capital of Texas, a reputation built on the strawberry crops raised in the area's light, sandy soils and celebrated each spring at the town's long-running strawberry festival. The surrounding country blends farmland with the mesquite and oak of the South Texas brush.
