Palisades, Texas

Palisades is a small village in Randall County, about 11 miles south of Amarillo in the Texas Panhandle. It lies among the upper reaches of Palo Duro Canyon, where the Prairie Dog Town Fork of the Red River has cut colorful cliffs into the flat High Plains, and sits near the shore of Lake Tanglewood. The setting of red rock, cedar breaks, and canyon rim gives the village a rugged landscape unusual for the otherwise level Panhandle.
