Olney, Texas

Olney is a city in Young County, in the rolling rangeland of North Texas well west of Fort Worth and northeast of Abilene. An oil boom in the 1920s made it a significant petroleum town for a time, and it later developed into an agribusiness and manufacturing center producing goods that have included recreational vehicles, apparel, and agricultural aircraft. The surrounding country is a mix of ranch land and oil-field terrain typical of the region.
