Set in the Piney Woods of far northeastern Texas, New Boston is a city in Bowie County, about 69 miles northeast of Longview and 93 miles northeast of Tyler. The town sits in wooded, gently rolling terrain near the state's eastern edge, close to Interstate 30. Its economy has long been tied to the timberlands and farmland of the region.

Texarkana's Federal Building straddles the Texas-Arkansas state line
