Set in the Bosque County hills of Central Texas, Meridian is a small city about 40 miles northwest of Waco, where the wooded, limestone-cut terrain of the Bosque River country meets the edge of the Hill Country. Nearby Meridian State Park preserves a stretch of cedar-covered hills and a small lake and is one of the older parks in the Texas system. The surrounding county is ranching and farming land.
