Lefors, Texas
Lefors is a small town in Gray County, in the Texas Panhandle, set along the North Fork of the Red River about 63 miles east of Amarillo. The surrounding country is flat High Plains rangeland given over to grazing and grain. The town grew during the Panhandle oil boom of the 1920s, when petroleum discoveries brought a rush of activity to the county.
