Kenedy, Texas

Kenedy is a city in Karnes County, in the San Antonio region of South Central Texas, about 57 miles southeast of San Antonio. The town sits in the brush-and-ranch country of the Karnes trough, a stretch of rolling South Texas terrain that became a center of Eagle Ford Shale oil and gas drilling in the 2010s. That energy boom reshaped the local economy, layering oilfield activity over a landscape long given to cattle ranching and farming.
