Kempner is a small city in Lampasas County, on the eastern edge of the Hill Country about 15 miles west of Killeen. It sits in rolling ranch country crossed by U.S. Highway 190, in a rural stretch of Central Texas between the Fort Cavazos military reservation and the town of Lampasas.
