Jewett, Texas
Jewett is a small town in Leon County, in the transitional country between the Piney Woods and the Post Oak Savannah of east-central Texas. The surrounding land is a mix of pasture, oak woodland, and pine, and the area has ties to ranching and to lignite mining and power generation in the region. U.S. Highway 79 passes through the community.
