Centerville is a small city in Leon County, positioned between the metropolitan areas of East and Central Texas about 48 miles northeast of College Station. It lies along Interstate 45 in the transitional country between the Piney Woods and the post oak savannah, in a largely rural setting of woodland and pasture. The town serves as a highway stop and local center for the surrounding ranching and farming country.
