Gordon, Texas

Gordon is a small city in Palo Pinto County, in the rugged hill and mesa country west of Fort Worth, about 63 miles from the city. It grew up along the Texas and Pacific Railway and developed as a market and agricultural shipping center, standing near the historic company coal town of Thurber. The surrounding landscape is broken and scenic, marked by rocky ridges and the wooded breaks of the Palo Pinto country.
