Farwell, Texas

Farwell sits on the far western edge of the Texas Panhandle in Parmer County, on the state line about 89 miles northwest of Lubbock, directly across the border from a neighboring town. The surrounding High Plains country is flat, dry farmland worked for wheat, corn, and cattle feeding, part of the vast irrigated agriculture of the region. The town traces its origins to the great XIT Ranch, the sprawling cattle operation that once covered much of this corner of the Panhandle.
