Sudan, Texas

Sudan sits on the flat South Plains of Lamb County, about 52 miles northwest of Lubbock in the cotton-farming country of the Texas High Plains. The level, irrigated land around the town produces cotton and grain, and agriculture has long defined the local economy. It is a small farming community strung along the highway and rail line that cross the plains.
