Edinburg, Texas

Edinburg is the seat of Hidalgo County and one of the principal cities of the Rio Grande Valley, set in the flat farmland of deep South Texas about 9 miles north of McAllen. It is home to the main campus of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, one of the larger universities in the state, along with the county government and courthouse. The surrounding country is longtime citrus and vegetable farmland worked in the Valley's mild climate.
