Eagle Pass is a border city in Maverick County, on the Rio Grande in the brush country of far southwestern Texas, roughly 128 miles southwest of San Antonio. Sitting on the river at the western edge of the state, it has long served as a crossing point for trade and travel and remains the largest community in Maverick County.
