Duncanville is a suburban city in southwestern Dallas County, part of a cluster of communities known locally as the Best Southwest, along with neighboring Cedar Hill, DeSoto, and Lancaster. It lies roughly 11 miles southwest of downtown Dallas on the rolling prairie south of the Trinity River, developed largely as a residential community within the Dallas metropolitan area.
