Deport is a small town in Lamar County in the rolling farm country of North Texas, about 81 miles northeast of McKinney. The community straddles the county line in a rural landscape of pastureland and cropland near the Red River watershed. Like many towns in the area, it developed as a farming and shipping point serving the surrounding agricultural country.
