Del Rio, Texas

Del Rio is a border city in Val Verde County, on the Rio Grande roughly 141 miles west of San Antonio. The city grew up around San Felipe Springs, one of the largest springs in Texas, which supplies its water and once fed a network of irrigation canals. Nearby Amistad Reservoir, formed on the Rio Grande, draws boaters and anglers, and Laughlin Air Force Base east of town is a major U.S. Air Force pilot-training installation.
